This method is my interpretation of Vincent Dérozier's Shape Blender node shown in his Japanese Helmet project.
Max(Lighten) Blend results in hard edge intersection of two input shapes. Sometimes it's desirable to have soft blended intersections. This graph shows the full workings to create a custom node and where parameters are exposed so you can create your own and play with what works best for you.
